Our Festive Stay at the Loews Chicago Hotel

Book the GingerBed + Breakfast Package today.

Looking for a festive downtown hotel to stay at during the holiday season? The Loews Chicago Hotel’s GingerBed + Breakfast Package fits the bill! Our family has an annual tradition to stay the night here during the Mag Mile Lights Festival & Parade.

To see all that we did in the city during our stay this year, check out my Facebook post.

But what exactly does The Loews Chicago Hotel’s GingerBed + Breakfast Package include, besides the overnight accommodations?

Loews Chicago Hotel Holiday Bedtime Story Cart

Books from the Holiday Bedtime Story Cart

When everyone is ready to wind down for the evening, just ask the front desk to bring out their Holiday Bedtime Story Cart, where your kids can choose a book or two to borrow for the weekend. My kids thought it was so cool that they had a whole cart to browse, with lots of options to look at.

Loews Chicago Hotel In Room Movie

In Room Movie

Even more exciting for my kids was being able to watch a movie in bed! There are many movies to choose from and both new and old releases. At a $20-$30 value, this was a great perk to the package we bought.

Daily $50 breakfast credit at ETA Restaurant + Bar

The ETA Restaurant + Bar truly has delicious food and drinks. The menu has globally inspired, but locally sourced cuisine, and both their dishes and cocktails rotate seasonally. Foods such as the Avocado Toast with smoked salmon and the Lobster Benedict are a couple of my favorites, but they also have more kid-friendly meals like chicken tenders and grilled cheese. The kids menu also has games and comes with crayons to help keep them occupied while waiting for their food.

Loews Chicago Hotel Gingerbread Decoration Kit

Gingerbread Cookie Decoration Kit

Speaking of keeping your kids occupied while waiting for their food….. as part of the package, the kids are also given a gingerbread cookie with icing bags that they can use to decorate their cookie. There are also M&Ms to use as the eyes, buttons or for whatever else they choose to use it for. My kids love doing this and it does help pass the time for them before their breakfast comes out. Added bonus is they get to eat it afterwards!

Loews Chicago Hotel Room Tent

Tent Set up in Room

For a little extra flair, a cute play tent is also set up in the room, with soft pillows shaped as logs, a fire pit and gingerbread men. My kids found themselves having “secret meetings” inside the tent and playing make believe.

Valet Parking

A $73/night value! The cost alone makes it worth upgrading to the GingerBed + Breakfast Package.

Other Perks of staying at The Loews Chicago Hotel during the holiday season:

  • The hotel lobby is very spacious and is beautifully decorated for the holidays.

  • In addition to the ETA Restaurant + Bar, there is another bar and lounge area where you can relax and sit with your kids while you (the adults!) sip on cocktails. Or do what we did and order a couple of their delicious desserts.

  • We like to stay here during the Lights Festival parade because you have a great view of the fireworks. It’s perfect for when you have kids like us, who are very sensitive to loud sounds. But even if you wanted to go closer to the parade in person, the hotel is an easy walk across the road to the end of the parade line.

  • Kid-friendly amenities are available, such as pool toys, board games & card games and children’s coloring books & crayons.

So what are you waiting for? The GingerBed + Breakfast Package is available until January 10, 2024, so book a room at The Loews Chicago Hotel before the holiday season ends! Can’t make it before the offer expires? Check out their Snowed Inn Package, which includes everything that the GingerBed + Breakfast Package does, except for the Gingerbread Decoration Kit. The Snowed Inn Package offer is also available until April 10, 2024.
