Breakfast with Santa at Lindy’s Landing
The Best Breakfast with Santa in the Chicagoland area.
The Brunch with Santa at Lindy’s Landing is one of our favorite traditions. To be fair, we’ve only done one other Breakfast with Santa in comparison, but we love Lindy’s so much, we’ve never felt the need to try a different place!
First off, if you haven’t been to Lindy’s Landing in Wauconda at any time during the year, add it to your list. This restaurant and banquet venue is actually best enjoyed during the summer. That’s because during the summertime, their lakefront dining is open. Patio tables are set up on the beach and the kids can play in the sand while waiting for your food, so don’t forget sand toys! If you don’t want to get all dirty before eating, there is also an outdoor patio deck, as well as an outdoor bar area [that’s also heated in the wintertime and decorated for the holidays!].
But more about that next year when it’s summertime!
Breakfast and Lunch with Santa
During the holidays there are 4 opportunities to have brunch with Santa, all on Sundays from 9a-4p. Dining takes place in their beautiful indoor dining room that overlooks the waterfront, and there is also a newly remodeled indoor bar and lounge. Reservations for this popular event open up about a month in advance. Guests also have the opportunity to make reservations on select days when dining in the restaurant, before they open up to the public.
Lindy’s offers 2 types of Brunch with Santa: One option is for your meal to be enjoyed at the restaurant, and the other option is the Lindy’s Breakfast to Go package. No matter which one you choose, both include photos with Santa! The Breakfast to Go serves 4-6 people and includes pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage, and fresh fruit. You can also add orange juice or the Mimosa package to your meal, both for an additional fee.
But the buffet menu when dining-in is where it’s at! The breakfast buffet has a large assortment of food, including everything in the Breakfast to Go package, as well as breakfast potatoes, lox, peel & eat shrimp, tuna tartar, corned beef hash, eggs florentine, chilaquiles and sooooo much more. We’ve never been there for the lunch buffet, but the food lineup sounds just as delicious, including London broil, mostaccioli, chicken piccata and sliders.
But before you go inside and stuff yourselves, be sure to arrive to the restaurant at least 15 mins before your reservation time, for your visit with Santa. Check in with the hostess and she will lead you to the heated outdoor bar where Santa will be. The line can sometimes be long, but it moves pretty quickly. While you’re waiting in line, enjoy the festive decorations all around you and be rest assured that the backdrop behind Santa is even more beautiful. Photos are free and you can use your own phone to snap the picture. Santa will also spend a few minutes talking to your child(ren) about their wish lists. We love how personable he is and he always remembers our family from year to year!

‘Tis the season for holiday markets and festive decor! But even better if you pair that with a local farm that sells fresh produce, baked goods or Christmas trees, or has a petting and feeding zoo.
