Windy City Bulls
[Reading time: 5 mins]
All the fun and excitement of a basketball game, at a more affordable price.
Have you been wanting your kids to experience a basketball game, but don’t want the hassle of all that the United Center brings? Then a Windy City Bulls game is perfect for you!
The Windy City Bulls is a minor league basketball team located at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates and affiliated with the Chicago Bulls. Purchasing tickets, getting to the arena and watching the game is all very simple and easy to enjoy with little kids. There is even a Kids Fun Zone where there are inflatables, and of course, basketball games.
Buying your tickets
When you go to the Windy City Bulls website, you will see there are many different ticket options: single games, family packs, season memberships, group experiences and so much more!
Single game tickets start at just $15!! If you are wondering if the $15 seats are even worth it, the answer is YES. The NOW Arena has a 10,000 seating capacity for basketball games; to put that in perspective, that is less than half of the capacity at the United Center. There truly is no bad seat in the house.
If you have a family of 4 or more, the best ticket package you can buy is the Family 4 Pack. This package includes 4- 100 level tickets and 4- $10 food and drink vouchers, for just $88… that’s $22 per person! AND, your $10 food and drink vouchers can be used any time during the current season, so if you don’t use it all in that one game, you can bring it back next time you go. We bought a Family 4 Pack and sat 2nd row in the center!
Other fun ticket experiences available are birthday party packages and group experiences, each offering different inclusions, such as a special scoreboard message, post-game photo op, food & beverage vouchers and so much more! There are also lots of fan experiences like performing at halftime or being part of the High Five Tunnel on the court. Check out the Windy City Bulls website for more ticket options!
Arriving at the NOW Arena
The NOW Arena is located in Hoffman Estates, right off of I-90. Parking for the Windy City Bulls ‘24-’25 season is FREE. When we went to a game earlier this season, it was shockingly empty. Parking was very easy and close to the door, however, I have to imagine that most game days, it can get a little congested, so do plan accordingly.
If you bought the Family 4 Pack, just know that you have to pick up your food & drink vouchers at will call, which can be accessed at the outside of the building.
The Windy City Bulls game experience
Your kids will be amazed as soon as they enter the NOW Arena! There are so many food vendors and entertainment tables and booths out on the floor. Take some time and walk around the arena before going to your seats, so they can explore all the fun things around them.
When you’re ready to go to your seats and you enter the stadium, your kids will immediately get excited by all the activity going on and off the court. The players will be doing their warm ups, there’ll be energetic music playing and lots of fans getting ready for the game to start.
Like any sports experience, the game itself will be very exciting for the kids to watch. Basketball especially is so fast-paced and will draw your kids’ attention. But there’s a lot of entertainment going on during the timeouts as well- the emcee is very captivating and keeps the energy going in between plays. There will be dance offs on the jumbotron, half court shots for prizes, silly contests, t-shirt cannons and of course the always-entertaining halftime show.
And don’t forget to get a photo with the loveable Windy City Bulls mascot and Benny the Bulls’ cousin: Gus T. Bull.
Kids Zone
A Windy City Bulls game experience wouldn’t be complete without stops in the Kid Zone. As fun and entertaining as the actual basketball game is, your kids will love taking breaks and hanging out in the Kid Zone.
There’s a large inflatable slide to go down, a 2 hoop basketball and a tic-tac-toe basketball game.
